Our Approach to Addiction Treatment

At Hand in Hand Recovery Center, our approach to treating addiction is rooted in a holistic and individualized perspective. Addiction is a complex disease affecting individuals physically, mentally, and emotionally. As such, we take a comprehensive approach to address all aspects of addiction.
Our addiction treatment programs in Atlanta are tailored to meet the unique needs and circumstances of each client. We begin with a thorough assessment to understand the underlying causes and triggers of their addictive behaviors. This allows us to develop personalized treatment plans incorporating various evidence-based therapies, holistic therapies, and interventions.

Our team consists of highly trained professionals specializing in addiction medicine, therapy, counseling, and other related fields. They work collaboratively with clients to guide them through every step of the recovery process. This includes:

  • Detox
  • Residential Treatment

  • Outpatient Rehab
  • Sober Living

We prioritize creating a supportive and nurturing environment where men feel safe to explore their challenges and work toward sustainable recovery.

How Effective Are Our Addiction Therapies?

Our addiction therapies are effective in treating substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. They are also helpful for treating the underlying conditions that cause these disorders. Some examples of common underlying conditions include adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), low self-esteem, history of trauma, and poor coping skills for everyday stress.

In addition, addiction therapies can be part of a long-term treatment plan continuing after detox and inpatient rehab. This is because substance use and dual diagnosis disorders—and the underlying conditions that cause them—are complex disorders that persist over time.

According to Social Science & Medicine, “people who received a planned long-term [defined as 18 months or longer] treatment or support had a 23.9% greater chance of abstaining or consuming moderately than did people who received a shorter standard treatment.”

Therefore, the best approach to treating addiction is with a long-term treatment plan where you step down from higher levels of care to lower ones. As you step down from detox and residential treatment, it is best to continue with partial hospitalization and then intensive outpatient programs. After that, you can continue addiction therapies during outpatient programs for several months or years on a weekly basis.
